Well folks, after a few long happy years, the time has come for the glasslands clouds to float off into the sunset. Kyp Malone’s group Rain Machine will have been the last to perform under them last night, and that seems right.
We used to rotate these art installations regularly before the clouds, and always intended to continue doing so, but we had no idea how warmly (and strongly) you all would feel about the clouds, and so I guess over time it just stuck.
But now it’s spring again people, and it’s time for change. We’re hard at work on a new installation which will be ready in a few weeks, and we hope you’ll like it.
Thanks again to Vashti Windish who designed and created the clouds, with some help from our awesome staff.
More to come on this new setting soon!
Five years ago today, Deer Tick performing ‘Little White Lies‘ at Glasslands – fast forward to 4:26 to hear Brooke telling everyone “the sound guy is awesome”. That’s team spirit y’all.
Hullo! OK so after about 7 years in South Williamsburg, we’re shutting down the little engine that could: the Glasslands blogspot – it’s just time to move on dude. Feels kinda like a Digimon evolution. And wouldn’t you know it, this brand spanking new site coincidentally sprouted up just in time. What are the odds!? We hope you’ll browse around and offer some feedback.
You can celebrate with us by sharing a link to our site on Twitter or Facebook (make sure to @ or tag us) for a chance to win a pair of tickets to ANY THREE SHOWS of your choice at our venue. Even the sold out ones are fair game.
Anyway, onwards and upwards right? Seeya soon
