The Burlies are a rock and roll band from Brooklyn, and have been around for about two years. They feature members of The Dismemberment Plan, Poor But Sexy, and The Diagnostics.
Black River Manifesto
Formed in Brooklyn in 2012, Black River Manifesto (formerly Black River Quartet) started out as a straight rockabilly/ blues band playing re-worked standards from the rootsier side of the rock-and-roll cannon. Changes of line-up ensued and the band quickly outgrew the limitations of the initial format and opted to pursue a tighter, more focused instrumental unit, embracing the compositional freedom the new model allowed.
Since then the band have been honing a heavier, punkier sound, placing their focus on live shows. They have become regulars on the NYC Dive Bar and DIY scene, have released one EP and performed a live radio session on Brooklyn based station The Indie Darkroom.
They have completed 2 East Coast tours with more booked throughout 2014, and their 2nd EP “Motorcity” is released in June 2014.
